VP Supply Chain

AJ Oster is currently looking for a Vice President, of Supply Chain. The
VP of Supply Chain will report directly to the President and is
responsible for directing the "future state" of the supply chain strategy
for the Company. This VP will be responsible for instituting robust and
lean operations through Six Sigma principles and techniques; and a
connoisseur of winning strategies in supply chain and distribution
management, streamlining, cost-reduction, client interaction, production
and materials planning, process improvement, team-building and
supervision and process optimization. The corporate safety manager
will report into this person. She handles all the administrative aspects of
safety for the corporation and there are local safety people at each
site. The corporate Operational Excellence director also reports into the
role
Responsibilities:
. o Manages all demand and supply Planning, Materials, Sourcing,
Procurement for AJ Oster.
o Coaches and directs Material managers, forecasting manager and their
direct reports.
o Manages AJ Oster team on all aspects of supplier sourcing, supplier
qualification, purchasing, vendor management, and logistics.
o Delivers year-over-year cost reductions within inbound and outbound
supply chains through continuous improvement projects to deliver
corporate plan objectives.
o Institutes lean processes and thinking to supply chain elements and
functions.
o Establishes and executes logistics corporate policies for AJ Oster.
o Develops strategies to minimize any supply /supplier risks.
o Builds strategic new vendor partnerships and attains cost and quality
improvements through strategic initiatives. Align vendors who can support
our growth platform of new products, new markets, and new regions

o Establishes inventory strategies, and guides factory operations to achieve
management objectives for targeted service levels.
o Develops new warehousing and transportation solutions to streamline the
AJ Oster supply chain and reduce overall costs; (transportation network
analysis, freight e-bids)
o Works closely with new product development to ensure full supply chain
readiness for new product launches.
o Monitors market changes and trends for purchased commodities and
drives needed procurement changes and decisions proactively.
o Establishes performance expectations and skill and competency
development plans for all associates in supply chain. Identifies talent gaps
Qualifications:
o Demonstrated abilities in supply chain to manage strategically, execute
tactically and provide leadership.
o A minimum of 10+ years of relevant work experience in supply chain
(including international sourcing), forecasting, and planning.
o A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Engineering - MBA a
plus.
o Previous training/certification in CPIM or APICS is preferred.
o Track record of developing people and managing managers preferably
within supply chain functions.
o Direct knowledge of integrated ERP systems, lean manufacturing
concepts and world-class supply chain practices.
o Considerable knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
o Possess good process experience/judgment and the ability to recognize
key problems before they become major issues.

o Self initiates and recognizes opportunities that translate to bottom line
improvement.
o Strongly grounded and at ease working in a manufacturing/distribution
environment with diverse processes.
o Leads with a sense of accountability, continuous improvement and a
sense of urgency.
o Superior project skills that encompass multiple tasks on multiple projects.
o Well-developed, strong negotiating skills.
o Experience implementing cost reduction programs.
o Knowledge of forecasting systems.
o Hands on analytical smarts and ability to mine data to provide insights
and actions.
o International coordination of sourcing materials.
o An excellent coach and team leader who develops clear and concise
stretch goals, and is able to formulate and execute a plan.
o Ability to lead change; effectively establishes high performing teams and
acts as a role model with high performance standards.
o Ability to travel - 25-30%.
o Executive presence and highly developed interpersonal communication
and presentation skill
o Ability to collaborate, motivate and lead globally through others and
influence the achievement of common goals.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
