Summary:
Provides support to the Laboratory by providing chemical analysis of production materials.
This is a second shift position, 4 days 40 hours.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Perform chemical and physical testing of incoming and in-process materials including approval/rejection of material based on results of this testing.
Perform chemical analysis by using various laboratory instruments.
Perform metallurgical testing as required (i.
e.
micro-section preparation, hardness and mechanical property testing) utilizing metallurgical equipment.
Provide direct feedback to Metal Casting operations providing melt charge calculations for heat corrections to meet desired element target objectives.
Maintain laboratory records and databases.
Maintain good housekeeping and safe work habits.
Prepare Certificate of Analysis for outgoing material.
Support Process Engineering data collection as needed.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.
e.
Windows, Excel).
Experience operating laboratory equipment.
Ability to practice good laboratory safety.
Meticulous attention to detail required.
EDUCATION Associates degree in Chemistry or two plus years working in a manufacturing laboratory.
