The Data Analyst role is responsible for organizing and maintaining data to be used for various analyses within the Actuarial department.
It involves obtaining raw data from multiple sources and at various levels of detail.
The position will help identify business needs and achieve desired deliverables
Responsibilities:
Build and maintain data sources and related statistical and mining tools, as well as evolve those sources and tools in anticipation of future company needs.
Refine data for various analyses, including but not limited to rate reviews and unpaid claims estimates.
Assist users in defining data requirements for existing and new products.
Analyze raw data from various sources and manipulate into requested output.
Provide recommendations based on findings of analysis.
Establish data request and delivery protocol.
Establish and monitor compliance with data quality and storage standards.
Conduct research to support corporate objectives or management's requests.
Assist in the product review process, checking for reasonability and accuracy.
Improves existing data processes Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics - 2
years of Data Analytics and Data Management experience preferably in Property and Casualty Insurance Advanced expertise in MS SQL-Server, Access, and Excel.
Experience with R and PowerBI a plus CIDM or AIDM designation or pursuit thereof, preferred.
CBAP designation desirable.
Familiarity with VBA desirable.
Ability to develop SQL code including stored procedurs, functions, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints Proficiency with mathematics and concepts.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
General knowledge of insurance concepts.
Ability to meet project deadlines.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Must support a results-oriented culture.
Must focus on details while being able to view larger picture.
Personal leadership.
Creativity to get job done when usual methods are not available Job Type:
