Sr. Director, Product Definition Engineering - PoL & MOSFET Power Stage

You are a Product Development Engineering expert designing with MOSFET's, have strong management skills and minimum 20 years of experience in Power Supplies including 10 years within semiconductor.
Your experience includes knowledge of POL & PMIC buck regulator control theory, MOSFET device requirements, buck topology systems with a focus on creating Power Stage & POL MCM's for customers.
The Sr.
Director, AE is a hands-on position that will lead a team for Infineon's DCDC Enterprise Power (EP) management business line.
This position can also be based out of our Raleigh, NC or Warwick, RI offices The DCDC Enterprise Power (EP) management business line defines, designs, develops, manufactures and markets PWM controllers, Power Stages (PS) and integrated Point of load (POL) products for the Server, AI, Communications, Consumer and industrial markets.
Candidates are expected to have management and hands-on development experience in the area of high-frequency, low voltage buck systems (3.
3 to 48Vin) voltage regulators.
As the PS & POL AE Senior Director, you will lead a team in working with customers and Engineering teams to define, develop, validate and design-in PS & POL products that are sold directly and through distribution channels.
In your new role you will:
Lead the PS & POL development by overseeing a team of 16 who are responsible for PS & POL controller definition and development Create definitions for PS & Point of Load Products with input voltages of 3.
3 to 48Vdc, Iouts of 3 to 100 Amps and Vout's of 0.
6 to3.
3Vdc for the Server, Communications, industrial and Automotive markets Work with the design team to implement PS & POL definition into silicon.
Oversee validation of the design on a prototype platform and verification of the silicon Verify the PS & POL's operations are fully validated, that PS & POL can be built in high volume and meet target requirements Specify the internal MOSFET's, the POL control method (COT, VM, CM), the external components (L's and C's) for PS & POL voltage regulators Manage, organize/develop PS & POL AE team by setting priorities and at times working as an individual technical contributor to complete projects on time Work with Infineon's Server, Communication, Consumer, and Industrial customers and respective marketing teams to define and develop Power Stage (PS) & Point of Load (POL) silicon products.
Gain customer and application knowledge and understand device usage in end-application through regular Customer interaction Work with product marketing team to create and maintain forward looking roadmap including defining features and functions that add customer value and provide state of the art performance Drive the AE work on Roadmap development and execution.
Gather customer and industry trends into the roadmap to grow Infineon PS 2X and PoL by 4X in 5 years in the market segments of Server, Communication, Industrial and Automotive Team will create go-to-market (G2M) evaluation boards, datasheets, application notes and design tools for new products and support customer project design-in activities Provide second level support for complex technical inquiries from customers.
Drive problem solving by simulations, system evaluation and bench testing Provide advance technical training to regional FAEs on how to use Infineon components to enhance value of end-Customer's products Benchmark competitor's products and generate promotional material and collaterals (test reports, application notes, white papers) for product promotion Travel occasionally (Approximately 10% of the time) for on-site customer meetings and supportYou are a proven leader and team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Your ability to be proactive and responsive in solving technical and/or customer issues will be key for this role.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
BSEE or MSEE with at least 20 years of experience in the power supply industry At least 10 years of Power Stage (PS) and/or Point of Load (POL) development Knowledgeable in power conversion topologies, power device, magnetics and control loop design Experience in selection of MOSFET's, Gate Drivers, Capacitors, Inductors and use of these components in PS & POL design and applications Lab skills in using digital oscilloscopes, function generators, and network analyzers for the test and debug of switching power supplies Experience with Matlab/Simulink, SIMetrix, or similar engineering tools is required to create product definitions and communicate PS & PoL operation to the design team Able to collaborate with all functions in the organization from Program management, to IC design, Packaging, ATE, Software (GUI) development, Marketing, FAE's and sales to ensure companies success Extremely responsive, ready to jump on the most difficult design and/or customer issues instantly Oral and written English language proficiency a must Effectively manage priorities and solve technical problems with team Well-organized, self-driven, good communication and presentation skillsInfineon Power & Sensor Systems (PSS) semiconductors play a vital role in enabling intelligent power management, smart sensitivity as well as fast and reliable data processing in an increasingly digitalized world.
